07/05/13 'MONOMANIA' the new album from Deerhunter is out now
Beggars Music is excited to announce that the 5th LP from Atlanta band Deerhunter is out now on 4AD Records. After a brief hiatus, during which time Bradford Cox and Lockett Pundt released their own albums as Atlas Sound and Lotus Plaza respectively, a new Deerhunter line-up (with additions of bassist Josh Mckay and guitarist Frankie Broyles) reconvened in January 2013 at Rare Book Studio in Brooklyn, New York. Deerhunter’s new long player was produced by Nicholas Vernhes and Bradford Cox and recorded in the dead of night. Monomania finds the group recalling its scrappy punk aesthetic; a perfect nocturnal garage rock album full of the layered and hazy vintage guitar sounds that define them.
22/04/13 Hannah Peel's Nailhouse EP is out now
The Nailhouse EP, was written and recorded in Hannah Peel’s own studio situated below a busy London street in a room she describes as ‘analogue synth heaven’. Co-produced with Erland this is Peel’s first release since 2011’s acclaimed debut solo album ‘The Broken Wave’ and 2012’s triumphant ‘Orkney: Symphony of The Magnetic North’ album by The Magnetic North, the band she formed with Simon Tong (The Verve, Gorillaz, The Good, The Bad & The Queen) & Erland Cooper (Erland & The Carnival). The Nailhouse EP is released on April 22nd through The Mitcham Submarine and she plays at the Sebright Arms on April 24th.
08/04/13 Deerhunter perform Monomania on Fallon
Following the announcement of the new Deerhunter album ‘Monomania’ the band delivered an intriguing performance of the albums title track on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. ‘Monomania’ which is the bands fifth studio album will be released on May 6th via 4AD records.
26/03/13 Bo Ningen announce UK tour
London based Japanese four piece, Bo Ningen have just announced details of a UK Tour in May. The band, currently in Japan, kick off the fifteen date tour in Liverpool on the 4th of May at Sound City and the dates include three consecutive shows at the Dot To Dot Festival in Manchester, Bristol and Nottingham. They’ve also just been added to the Latitude festival line up along with label mate Serafina Steer.
05/03/12 Kurt Vile plays intimate show at London Barfly
On Thursday (March 7th) Kurt Vile plays an intimate gig at London’s Barfly, presented by Fly Magazine. This show is open to competition winners only and comes ahead of the release of his new album ‘Wakin On A Pretty Daze’ out on April 8th via Matador.

18/02/12 Brit Awards - Cat Power receives nomination
The BRITS Award ceremony takes place later this week and we are very proud of Cat Power for being nominated for the ‘Best International Female’ award. This is the second nomination for Chan, the first being for the same category back in 2007. Marshall’s most recent album Sun has been called “a rebirth” by the writer which is exactly what the confident, ambitious, charismatic record feels like.
08/02/13 Kurt Vile releases documentary on new album artwork
Kurt vile recently revealed the artwork and title for his upcoming LP via a mural painting. The album ‘Wakin On A Pretty Daze’ is set for release in the spring and today Vile is streaming a brilliant documentary about the making of the artwork.

07/01/13 SBTRKT 'Live' album released today
In October 2012, SBTRKT rounded off a hugely successful year of worldwide touring with two sold out shows at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire. As an electronic artist, SBTRKT has skillfully managed to translate the music he makes in his home studio into a compelling live show with only vocalist and musician SAMPHA joining him onstage. The pair work with an array of live acoustic, and electronic instruments to bring a dynamism to the live show that makes each performance unique. It was this that SBTRKT was keen to document when he suggested filming one of the two shows using 12 separate cameras, each focusing on a different element of the show.
The results looked and sounded incredible, so SBTRKT directed the mixing and editing of the footage into 2 live videos and 10 tracks of live audio, all of which he feels perfectly communicates the complexity and energy of the live show.Both the videos and audio are available to download now, exclusively on iTunes, either as additional tracks on the current album to make up a new deluxe format, or as a standalone release, which is simply titled ‘LIVE’.
In addition to this Young Turks will be releasing ‘LIVE’ as a limited run of 500 LP / DVD packages housed in hand-screen-printed sleeves. These are available to preorder now from the Young Turks http://theyoungturks.co.uk/
